Transformative Leadership Academy Cycle 2 Inspires 43 Administrators with Insights on Resilience and Vision
The Transformative Leadership Academy (TLA), a program under the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs headed by Dr. Jovelyn G. Delosa proudly hosted its second cycle, gathering 43 dedicated administrators from various departments to explore the themes of resilience, personal values, and effective communication in leadership held last October 24-25, 2024 at Eliana Farm Resort, Dicklum, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon.
The College President, Dr. Christie Jean Villanueva-Ganiera shared the essence of leadership, “We cannot lead effectively if we are not willing to invest in relationships that form the foundation of our academic community. Let us reflect on our strengths and embrace every opportunity for growth. Let us seek to connect our own values and those around us. If we live with passion and purpose we naturally inspire others to follow. Let this TLA be the avenue not only to guide others, but also nurture our own potential.”
The event featured an engaging keynote address by Dr. Ann Lan K. Candelaria, Assistant Vice President for Graduate Education of the Loyola School of Graduate Studies at Ateneo de Manila University. Dr. Candelaria emphasized the importance of shared vision and loyalty to the mission, stating, “Let us not describe ourselves with our distortions. TLA teaches us the significance of shared vision and loyalty to the mission.”
Highlights of the academy included valuable activities where participants shared their leadership journeys and stories of resilience. Attendees also presented their desired roadmap for the Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC), focusing on creating impactful change within their communities.
Key topics discussed during the sessions included:
– Personal Values and Resilience
– Resilience Capabilities
– Communicating Change (Reconciliation)
Miss Mary Cris Go, PhD, a program participant, shared her insights from the activities, stating, “Leadership is a strength, and moving out of the comfort zone is power.” Her reflection underscores the transformative nature of the TLA experience, encouraging fellow leaders to embrace challenges and foster growth.
As TLA continues its commitment to empowering leaders, Cycle 2 has illustrated the power of resilience and collective vision in shaping effective leadership
